Tanabe cut loose by Bruins

Okay, now this guy is a defenceman...is he the type maybe we should try to pick up now that he's a UFA as the Bruins decided not to accept the arbitration award to Tanabe of $1.275 million? Story at tsn.ca

 Unfortunately with the money Gainey spent on guys like Streit, Ribs, Boullion and Downey, we don't have a penny to spend.


 Our roster is set.

If Gainey signed Tanabe, would it count against the cap while Bouillon is on the injured list?

Tanabe is pretty expendable, I'd say. Why are people getting excited about a guy like that? We aren't that thin on defense.
