Sabres to trade Briere?
TheFourthPeriod.com

Daniel Briere can thank the arbitration process for the big raise he's going to receive next season.

TFP has learned that the Buffalo Sabres' captain has been awarded a one-year, $5 million settlement.

Briere, 28, registered 28 goals and 37 assists for 65 points in 82 games with the Sabres last season.

The Sabres have 48 hours to accept the arbitrator's decision. If they choose to reject it, Briere can become an unrestricted free agent.

According to TSN, however, the Sabres have been quietly shopping Briere throughout the arbitration process and could be involved in a "sign-and-trade."

TSN claims the two sides are working on a 5-year, $25 million deal that would then see Briere dealt immediately. Montreal, Los Angeles and Atlanta are among the interested parties.

I don't want Briere to be honest, he's only played a full season once...

Briere only played 48 games last season due an abdominal injury that required surgery.  Before getting hurt, Briere was on his way to a career-year, scoring 25 goals and 33 assists for 58 points.

If you ask me thats pretty good. I say trade Bonk and Ribs to free up the cap space

think they'd actually take a shot to the Ribs and Bonk on the head for Briere? Doubt it.
