i dont know who awarded him this but they have to get someone in there who has a clue , this person seem to look at stats for last year , compares him to others and awards him money , the person deciding these contract has to look at all things , persons age , past perfomance , what he bring to the team , tenure with the team , health . there is no way briere is worth 5 large.

Wow!  $5.00 for Briere?  He had 1/2 a good season and will be a good player for a good protion of his career HOWEVER this really struck me a high.  Ribs at $1.90 is starting to look like a deal.  Scared to see what Ryder's gonna get now.  It almost seems like the players always get what they want.  Only Luongo was given the shaft in arbitration, if I remember right.  Anyway, Briere's days in Buffalo must be numbered now.  Would we take him at $5.00?  For the right trade?
