i got this from another board , has some truth and some fiction , sorta like an and-o post lol , ribs 1.9 - ryder 2.3 is what id offer .

Ribs
81 20 45 65 34
79 16 35 51 36
160 36 80 116 70 total

Ryder
81 25 38 63 26
81 30 25 55 40
162 55 63 118 66 total

They both suck defensively. hockeydb.com didn't have +/- stats and I'm too lazy to dig for them.
Neither one of them is a great hitter (or hits at all in some games).

Just throwing out there to show everyone what Bob Gainey is going in to the arbitrator with. Ribs at 1.9. Is Ryder really worth that much more. I know we all have our favorite players, but if you look at it objectively, then...

Of course other factors go into this, but like I said, defensively, hitting, leadership, etc. I really don't think there is that much that either brings to the table that is that much greater than the other. If I'm missing something, let me know.

Excellent post, red!  Even a little punctuation thrown in just to spice it up.

I'm a big Ryder fan and not so big Ribeiro fan (OK, not a fan at all), but the numbers sure do tell a story.  The key differences are (1)  that Ryder has more goals - our only sniper of sorts, and (2) Ribeiro played a lot with Kovalev and got some cheap assists.  Also, Ryder is more of a disciplined representative for the team off the ice.

WIth Ribeiro at $1.9 MM, Ryder at $2.36 MM seems right on.
