what are the chances of BG getting on the phone with Lindros' daddy and getting his son to sign with montreal next year for $1.25 M. Then trade little ribeiro somewhere for a bag of pucks (third rounder, ala Zednick trade). I realize that Lindros might not want to play in Montreal and that the fans might be on his A$$ for refusing to go to quebec, but how can he pass up and opportunity to centre a line with kovalev and samsonov. As much as i hate the prick one has to admit that he was on fire last year b4 he got injured again.
So injuries would be huge with lindros, but he is exactly what we need and i'd rather give him the money than give it to ribeiro.
Random thoughts
I like the trade Souray, Aebischer to St louis of eric brewer and a draft pick.
I'd like to see Latendresse make it next year, problem is we might have too many players that deserve to make the team.
3) we sign him to a $ 1 MIL contract, if he plays well, he wants $ 5 mil, we still dont win the cup (because Lindros is going to retire without one), and we have nothing to show for it.
4) Trading Ribs means taking on part of his $2M salary...we should at least see how he starts the season...but I want him out too
5) Playing in Montreal is a privilege, BOB understands that, and lindros has not earned it.
6) We are rebuilding, he doesn't fit into the plans
7) it would be too much of an insult to the Quebeckers...BG knows better
lindros..can everybody say eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyuck....he was never any good ...and to old now ....time to move on...more of a virus, than a hockey player....he doesn't play TEAM hockey just takes up space on the ice.If I was going after one of the older players,it would be chelios,at least you know you'll get 110% out of him, even at his age,i'd rather keep Ribeiro.

Never any good, between 1995-1999 he was arguably the most complete player in the game. Was a DOMINANT IMPOSSING PHYSICAL PRESENCE.
I don't really like the guy as a person. But the fact is without the injuries he would have lived up to the hype of being Philly's franchise player for 15 years. Without the concussions he would still be a feared player.
He can still be good and was playing like an all-star when Sundin was hurt early in the year for Toronto last year. If healthy the guy can still contribute.
Say what you want about his attitude or him being injury prone. But on the ice the guy still gets it done.
Come on guys ,do you actually think this guy is worth the money....my opinnion I've seen him in the canada cup, when he was a rookie he couldn't carry the puck 2 feet without losing it ...and they said he was a wayne gretzy and lemeiux(however you spell it) all in 1.He couldn't carry their jock straps.so give me a f***kin break ,if your talkin bout an overpayed player he is the mold, barr none.he is a friggin poison

Id take the chance on Lindros too. Remember, he didnt go down because of a concussion last year, he hand a hand injury that made it impossible to control the puck or have a hard shot. The guy doesnt play scared. He plays smarter, because he knows what happens when you dont. The guy STILL throws his body around and puts up points! ( Remember, with Toronto, they had lindros sundin and Allison, Lindros was the odd man out because of his injury and that is why he didnt stack up many points but still a decent about at the end of the year. PLUS, dont you think lindros would be pumped to give it back to the leafs after giving up on him? Sure, he ditched Quebec after he was drafted BUT, that was also 10+ years ago. Im positive the guy has at least matured a little bit and would be ready to apologize for it at a press conference! ( Plus, didnt Colorado get some guy named Forsberg out of that deal? )..along with Steve Duschene, Kerry Huffman, Mike Ricci, Ron Hextall, Chris Simon, Philly’s first-round pick in 1993 and 1994, and $15 million in cash, just to make sure the deal was even....( NOT )...I think Quebec/Colorado's 2 stanley cups since then and the flyers 0 is enough revenge...

I have never disliked Lindros, I just pitied him. I put him in a similar grouping with people like Michael Jackson and Mike Tyson; guys with great talent, but little will power who have very selfish people controlling them. I feel bad for the guy.
As for signing him... heck ya! He gives us what we wanted in Arnott, except Lindros comes cheaper and has more offensive upside. The downside is that he can bring with him more distractions and has an injury history. That said, it has been 3 years since his last concussion and that means he has the same chances of getting one as anybody who has ever had one... which is probably most NHLers.
I don't think he will sign here, but it would be nice and potentially great if he did!
