I would like to see Bouwmeester myself, but that is the East coast, so we would probably have to trade Souray for something on the West coast that Florida would want and then add in Aeb... meaning there is almost no chance it will happen... Keenan does seem to want to move him though and he does fit our need, but it would be expensive.

Signing Belfour...... really??? Even after surgery for a herniated disk??? That's pretty gutsy if ya ask me... probably even a waste of $ too.... That kind of surgery can ruin Ed's ability to play hockey ever again. I have 2 family members & three friends who have had this surgery & every one of them are worse off than they were beforehand. Some can barely walk & one's even in a wheelchair.... all are on disability.... & none had jobs where they needed to reach, move quickly or be run into @ full speed. (imagine when Detroit plays Carolina.... lol...... he'll be in BIG trouble)

Montreal/LA deep in talks?

Montreal is not finished yet, or at least that is how it seems. David Aebischer and Sheldon Souray are both being shopped, and according to one report, they may be packaged together and on their way to LA. No word on who could be coming the other way just yet, but I will keep my ear open.

Getting Datsuyk, Zetterberg or Lidstrom is VERY unlikely....Zetterberg and Datsuyk are not going anywhere given their age, contracts, and skill level, there are in their prime and unless we have players I don't know about....very unlikely.

A trade with LA may be interesting...the Habs need a big C desperately....I dont know about the rest of you but having Ribiero anywhere near the top 2 lines is not good, too small, too slow, he can't win a face off, and despite his performance in the first 2 games against CAR he still can't play defense. Ribs needs to go, Sheldon? Well, you have to give in order to get, it would have been nice if the BOB picked up a number 1 D to make that trade easier...but in BOB i trust.

That having been said....any combo of Souray/Ribs/Abby may get Les Glorieux something that is missing.

Aebischer would not be going to LA who in the last few weeks got Clothier from Vancouver after Canucks got Longo.......

He's untouchable in LA right now. One of the top 5 defencemen in scoring last year. You won't get him for Souray unless you are willing to throw in lots more.
