This was a desperation move by Gainey....Is there any other team in the NHL that would want Samsonov? He is another version of Oleg Petrov. Gainey away traded Zednik for basically nothing.

I can't believe some of you guys that are so desperate for a trade, a signing etc. You get so excited with the addition of 2 non impact players. You fly off and thing the habs are Stanley Cup bound.

I also wish that the regulars (the ones that make postings all day long from there parent's basements),,,,bashing players like Zednik and Ribiero as soon as they have a bad year...where is your loyalty. No wonder no one wants to play here anymore.

Ribiero...born and raised in Montreal deserves better support. He lead the team in scoring 2 seasons ago and was the most dynamic and creative player on the team.

Most of what you are saying isn't up my alley, but this bit I will totally agree with, and admit I am very guilty of slamming Ribs.  2 seasons ago, Ribs was my fav Hab.  I think he may have just got caught up in Jose's crap.  I was thinking about it now, and maybe its the  , but I am excited about Ribs playing with Kovalev and Samsonov. (if that is a line).  Imagine Riberio being the worst puck handler on your line, I think he is one of the best in the league with the puck.  Call me crazy if you want but if those 3 play together Rib's will score more points than Koviu.  It could be good.

Plus, I have read about 200 posts tonight about this signing, and no one has bad things to say about us getting Samsonov. It's the headline is on every sports sight on the net.

Sorry, I'm impressed

Don't really care where my habs are from, as long as they're good at what they do...

Canadian is a bonus, though...

Ad you might want to give Samsonov a chance, he can work some real magic if he wants to..

This is clearly NOT a desperation move by Gainey, he isn't one to do that. And Sammy is a very good player, as well as Johnson.

And don't but all us regulars in one bunch, because I don't fit the bill, neither do some of the other regulars here. And you don't have to insult anyone for being wagon jumpers.

Ah! You found the non-thread-closing words that I failed to think of! Well done...
