Right now I would settle for Tom Arnold.

LOL, as long as he doesn't bring Roseanne he wouldn't be so bad.  & I never thought I would get excited thinking we may have signed Tom Poti.

4 yrs for less that $1 per?  Why not, I say.  But, as suggested in another thread, since Gainey wasn't able to hit his targets, maybe he is waiting for the dust to settle.

Since this is a thread about Tom Poti, let's have one of our techie guru's post some stats.

I saw a fair bit of Poti when he was with Edmonton. We don't need that guy, cheap or otherwise.

Bob MacKenzie announced on TSN that "Tom Poti and the Montreal Canadien could have signed a deal. Sources told that should be a contract of 4 years for 15 millions "

I hope not.

We have Souray already.  More offence, bigger, hits harder and plays better in the defensive zone.  All this for 2.4 mil.  Yes, I remember, he missed some checks, but I still think he is a high quality defensman.

Why sign Poti?  Less offense? Smaller? Lousy in the defensive zone, don't believe me ask Kevin Lowe.  And for a rumoured 3.75 Mil.

DO NOT DO THIS

And a good thing too. Tom Poti is NOT what we need. Our defense corps is well-stocked with decent-not-great guys. If we are going to pick up a defenseman it should be a prospect or a #1.
