I am also starting to feel that way. I am glad that more teams can get in on the bidding, but I think allowing players to have up to 20% of the teams cap will really come back to haunt them.
That was just a wasted season if these GMs continue to pay what ever players have nervs to ask for
Great observation, Power! I was thinking the same thing recently; salaries seem to be right back where they were, the rich teams get richer, and the small-market teams will struggle (OK, maybe not Carolina......).

you guys fail to realize the reason for the missed season , it wasnt to limit the amount 1 person could get it was to limit the amount 1 team could sign . i could care less if 1 player got 20 mil. but the team that gives him that now only has 24 mil for the rest of the team . it wasnt to stop jagr from getting his money it was to stop to. and the rags from spending 100 mil on a team while pitts , nashville and the likes have noone on their team but minor leaguers because the big spenders have all the good players . look at jersey the have cap problems and only 14 players signed , to has a 20mil. defence but after sundin , no forwards . so its not how much you spent its how you spent it . and next year when the cap goes down a couple mil. they will have even less to spend .
