The Montreal Canadiens have re-signed defenceman Francis Bouillon to a three-year contract, worth $1.875-million per season.

Bouillon, 30, recorded 22 points and a minus-5 rating in 67 games with the Canadiens in 2005-2006.

A short and stocky defender, listed at 5-foot-8 and 196 pounds, Bouillon has 71 points and a minus-16 rating in 295 career games

if this is true then the pattern holds true . bob overspends again , the only player he has signed and didnt overpay was downey , but then again he is making more than plecs and more than minimum so maybe he is overpaid . would i like to sell gainey something , he'd offer me more than its worth .

Way too much money for the Cube - at the most 1.2 mil for this guy.  Are you telling me he is worth the same as Markov?  Markov is going to ask for 4 mil next year.

If Gill, the giant pylon, is worth 2.1, then I guess Bouillon is worth 1.875. He got the length of the deal that he wanted, but at the cost of a 5th of the salary he wanted. I guess it works out. Apparently there were a number of teams trying to sign him.

I guess looking now at the salaries coming down the pipe cube's numbers arent that inflated, this D-core isnt as bad as we'd like to believe, sure a #1 D-man would be a nice addition but with komi markov and souray we need just consistant health and play cause 4-6 we are as good as any team....provided we can get that scoring up about 50 goals....now where do we find a 50 goal man????????? wonder what Richer is doing now?

If he played now, Richer would be richer!

Good to see you posting again, CSI.  Did you know your old girlfriend's sister had a baby last week?

I disagree big time. The cube fit well into the new NHL. In fact, in terms of consistency...he was the habs best d-man all year!!

He is solid, never gets burnt like Sourray, has a smooth transition game. His only downfall is his size...but size is no longer as huge an issue anymore. In fact all those giants are turning into liabilities in this league( see Chara looking like a giant pylon with Briere...).

The cube is a steal. Great move by Bob.
