I think we should be looking for more scoring instead of defense. A lot of people talk about how weak we are on D but i was bored and decided to look at some stats (Only eastern teams).
Montreals GA: 247 Less than (teams above) Tampa, Philly, Carolina
Montreals GF: 243 less than (teams below) Toronto, Atlanta, Pittsburgh (And only three more than Florida)
Consider that our GA is higher because of the many times we were blown out with Theodore in net.
Good D is very important. Look what Pronger did for Edmonton and Neidemeyer did for Anaheim.
If we can get a #1 D-man who can play close to the 30 minutes a game it takes off some of the pressure of the goaltending and allows the forwards to take more risks.

I didn't say good D wasn't important but what i was saying is that we have good d and with a top goal scorer we could be up there.
We definitely need an upgrade on D even if Bouillon stays. Our right-side of Komi, Rivet, and Dandy consists of a 4th, 5th, and 6th D and yet the 5th and 6th D (Rivet and Dandy) are paid like 3rd and 4th D. If there isn't a big shake-up this year, there certainly will be next year when 3 of their contracts (at least) are up.
If we can light it up, then D won't matter as much. I think that is the point of the thread and something to think about. And we won't get a #1 D and a #1 scorer this time around, i don't think. The scorers are available so let's grab em.
