Maybe battled for top team in the league for many years???


attracted more big names??


Became late 90's dynasties like the Devils and Redwings??

............nor with the rest of the personnel on the ice at the time.  This was a team in decline, with or without Patrick Roy.

...Tremblay and Roy were too much alike though...and the rest, as they say (who are 'they' anyway) is history!!!

The biggest mistake in that era was firing Serge Savard.  Sure the team started slowly but the guy had built us two stanley cup winners.  It was time for Demers to go as the team was no longer playing for him, but Savard should have been the guy to find the next coach.


Houle-Tremblay was a disaster of epic proportions.
