09-Oct-96: Detroit Red Wings traded Paul Coffey, Keith Primeau and 1st round selection (Nikos Tselios) in 1997 to the Hartford Whalers for THIS PLAYER and Brian Glynn.
27-Jul-95: St. Louis Blues traded THIS PLAYER to the Hartford Whalers from Chris Pronger.
25-Jul-91: Signed as a free agent by the St. Louis Blues.
13-Jun-87: Drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the 1st round (2nd overall) in 1987.

I'm pretty sure its Shanahan Hes the only guy i can think of that went from Hartford to Detriot worth mentioning

Trivia for you.  Shanny was restricted at the time and St.Louis already owed washington draft picks for a previous free agent signing so the standard compensation of first round draft picks was not available.  What player or players were awarded to the Devils as compensation for losing shannahan??
