This guy is nothing but his name a real DICK. Although the NHL had used a private lab to test for steriods this season Dick is still upset. The guy won't be happy until the urine is in his hands (His labs) im guessing this all has to do with the monetary compensation that Labs that he is incorporated with would recieve for adminstrating these tests. This guy thinks he can make money from making deragtory comments towards the NHL with no supporting facts. And after reading this article it seems that he does the same for other sporting events as well although im not very familar with Lance Armstrong and Dick Pounds confrontations.
What do you expect the guy to do? His job is to clean up dopers. And you canot possibly believe that not 1 NHLer is on roids. That would be stupid. The only reason the PA and NHL are on Dick's ass is to deflect the public eye from their poor testing system. Seriously. And even with no roids, what about blood doping or other enhancers. If year 1 of a league self testing cleaned out all the cheaters I could grow wings.

Noone said that there was not 1 player on Steriods. However i think the numbers are far lower than Dick Pound has stated. He claimed that 1/3 to 1/2 of the league was on some sort of illegal drug. Now I think it is safe to assume that some people beat the tests, however i also think it is safe to assume that the more people using means more people getting caught. If not one person was caught of a supposed 250+ players using (according to Dick Pound's inference) that makes me believe that Pound is guessing WAY, WAY, WAY too high in his estimates.
Also it is proven that steriods would have a limited influence in a players ability to play hockey. Pumping up on Roids would improve your strength, however the increased bulk and muscle mass would hinder mobility, and agility, two things necessary to play hockey at a high level, whether it be in the "old" NHL or the "new" NHL which has an even greater premium placed on these skills. Personally i think stimulants like efedrine (found in sudafed) and caffeine are far more likely to be the drugs of choice for a hockey player than steriods.
