Barry, what's the insights? I recall shortly after he was fired by the Habs, CJ was in touch with New Jersey according to one of Barry's earlier posts.

Mario- Jersey contacted Claude the week after he was fired. Claude told them at that time that he felt it was in his best interests, and ultimately New Jersey's, if he was to take some time away from the NHL to regroup. He was interviewed for the LA job that Crawford got and was a frontrunner to be either a head coach in Vancouver or Vignault's assistant. He very much wanted to stay in the Eastern Conference.

He was offered 2 jobs in Junior in Moncton and Saint John. The Jersey job was his to take or turn down all along however he wanted to do his due diligence to make sure that the situation was right. Lou Lamorillo has assured him that the team will continue to be competitive and that the money will be spent to do so. Lamorillo told him that their goal is to get to the cup final in 2 years.

I talked with Claude last evening and he is very happy. Apparently Brodeur called him yesterday to tell him how happy he was with the choice. Glad to see you back buddy.

Easy there, Linden!  I don't think "most of us" are questioning Barry's relationship with Claude Julien.  Barry is a man of honour and would not make this up.

Uhmmmm..ya you got me. You are a smart one you are!! I go out on a limb to give this board information when I get it. CJ was considering a move to Vancouver with Vignault as late as last week. There were a few stumbling blocks in the Jersey deal that he was wary of that could have been deal breakers. Ultimately, they were ironed out in the past few days and his focus shifted to the Meadowlands again. That is how things go in this business at times. They change daily. All I try to do is to update everyone here as I get news as most people seem to be interested in. Keep in mind that there are things told to me in confidence that I cannot say on here which may alter your view somewhat.  I will , however, if it will mak eyou feel any better, dig the old wedding picture out and scan it (ughhhh the thoughts of even looking at that wedding picture repulse me). However keep in mind that you will need to look back at CJ's pics in his playing days as he has a moustache and hair.

I assure you that I have much better things to do than spend time making up stories about who I know and do not know. I can really care less. I do not try to impress anyone with the fact that we are friends as it is unimpressive to me. I tell people here what I know because it is sometimes nice to get an inside look. Claude, to me, is just like any other friend. People put him on a pedestal because he coaches in the NHL. To me he is still the same guy I knew in university.

But I will make sure that Claude has made up his mind in the future before I report anything and that he keeps me aprised of his every move.
