Funny how two days change things. Saturday night, after a 2-1 loss and a goal that they disagreed with, guys like Brindamour refused to come out and talk to the media because they were sulking. Two days later and another 2-1 score, this time in their favour, and you could not drag their team away from the mcrophone. Strange how that happens. It proves that sometimes the best team talent wise wins, but not neccessarily the team with class. As heartbreaking as the loss must have been for Edmonton last night I did not see one of them refusing to talk to the media. None blamed it on the reffing (although Carolina certainly got the benefit of that last night). McTavish simply talked about his team's dismal power play and the need to be better. Class. Oilers have it. Canes do not know what the word means.

Stupid question (and I put it here rather than open a new thread): Is Rexall PLace a new rink, or merely the old Northlands Coliseum with a new sponsor and name?

For you Hockey Historians - Would Carolina be the dirtiest team to win the Cup (if they win) since the Broad Street Bullies? Habtastic
Probably, but they're a long way from being as dirty as those Flyer teams. Dave "The Hammer" Schultz, "Hound Dog" Kelly.............those were gladiators!

Still hate philly because of them. Used to love a good Habs-Philly bench-clearing brawl....
Oh, and Bobby Clarke's an idiot... 12 years and 600 million can't get you a cup? or to think of it, better than 4th in Nagano? Wonder what that "M" stands for in GM when it applies to him?
I've always found it amazing that Clarke can't figure out he needs to get a real goalie to win the Cup. I mean he won two cups playing infront of a great goalie in Bernie Parent, and when he left the Flyers didn't win again. Why can't he see that a great goalie can make all the difference in the world.

I think it's the curse of Bernie Parent's circumcision... A couple of the guys will remmember that one and the resulting disaster....

You're obviously referring to old geezers like me, but I'm afraid I'm drawing a blank on that one..................

He had a circumcision in the middle of the season, and it got infected, and he ended up missing 30-odd games..... Strange timing, and usually recorded as a back injury to avoid embarrasment....
So you're saying his season was, ahem, cut short...............
I would question that one, Brook. Parent, a Quebequois, was most likely a Catholic and would have been circumcised at birth (I can't believe we're discussing this on GoHabs!)................... usually once is enough!

I memory serves me, the guilt had caught up with him, and he decided to get it done mid-season
