What is the most ice-time that any forward or any defenseman has logged during the course of a 60 minute NHL game?

…the reason And-o thinks that record will be challenged nightly for the rest of the series between Carolina and Edmonton by Chris Pronger!

Could we see a 35-40 minute game???  THAT would be quite impressive at such a high level!

Looked it up but couldnt find anything...im guessing its somewhere between 35-40 mins....for a 60 min game anyway. Most likely held by a defenseman

Wow!  In a league where every guy is supposedly in peak physical condition and playing full-tilt every shift, that is truly impressive!

The Habs need a guy capable of logging this type of ice when really needed!!!

Hey and-o !! i found it!!! Any goalie who was not pulled during a game and did not leave the net when a delayed penalty was called has played 60 mins!

In the early days of hockey it was not uncommon for a forward or defenceman to play the entire 60 minutes.  Benches were smaller in those days.

We're talking like the 1910s, early 1920s here And-O.

When do you wanna make a cutoff for minutes played in the modern era.  That is the question.  But if you wanna go back to the start of the NHL in 1917, I'm sure you'll find quite a few 60 minute men.
