Just for fun: Name three NHL players from the small Dartmouth suburb of Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia.


One should be obvious, one is still playing (in the playoffs as we speak; apparently he was born in Ontario, but grew up in Cole Harbour), and the third is an obscure former Chicago Black Hawk.


Six-pack of Keith's Light to the winner (but you must come to Halifax to claim it!).

1: Sean Avery......Los Angeles


2: Sidney Crosby......Pittsburgh


3: Joe Dipenta......Anaheim


4: Cam Russell......former Chicago Blackhawk


You'll have to drink that beer for me because it's too damn far to drive out there.....

Sean Avery?! That one is news to me!  Hockeydb lists him as being from North York, Ontario.


In any event, well done on the three I had in mind.  Now I'll have to drink that six-pack for you. Damn!

I have to admit I cheated by doing a bit of searching but they had him listed on the site I'll post below and the way the site reads made me think he was also from the area. There is a good possibility that I could be wrong though.....

Looks like he played some in the Cole Harbour minor hockey system, but I doubt he grew up anywhere near here.

Speaking of Keith's - I was at a concert at the Metro and the lead singer demanded Keith's. Anyone know the band/singer? Nil will drink another 6er in honour of the first right answer.

That is Eddie Vedder, of Pearl Jam.  The picutre was taken during a song called Down.  Guess I'll just have to Down the Keith's myself.
