Seriously, I'd love to get Elias.... He got me more points than anyone in the hockey pool.... (I'm pretty sure)

Elias is a proven performer when the chips are down.
And he's a GOAL-SCORING winger/centre who's strong on the puck.
Sounds pretty good to me.

He would command at least 7, I have heard potentially as much as 8 mill (they are raising the cap limit next season).

I would rather have BG get two solid players for $8 million than get Elias for the same price. As the prudent investor would do - diversify and don't put all your eggs in one basket!!

With the cap going up, Montreal could possibly get three solid players to add to the lineup.

Who could we get for $3-4 million?

I see that Lagenbrunner is also available. How would he look as a Hab? Gainey I am sure knows him well from the Dallas days.

I'm not saying he WILL get 8 million, but if the bidding war starts, it could get up there. If he stays in NJ he will likely give a discount, but if he leaves, the bidding will drive up the price.
