I would like to see a Jason Arnott type player (if not Arnott himself). We could really use a big right handed center who can score, and so I think that and a d-man is what he'll be after once Huet has been signed.

As for a d-man, I really would like to see Zdeno Chara come to Montreal, but that's very unlikely. I'll be curious to see who he does sign.

Hmmm....Zdeno Chara. There's an idea. Arnott AND Chara. Sounds pretty sweet to me. Both exactly the kind of players we need. I know Arnott is past his prime, and Chara's kind of unpredictable, but seriously, those two really fit the bill. Arnott's a nasty veteran who will help the team compete while the kids just get better and better.

Arnott-Kovalev, Kostsitsyn

Koivu - Higgins, Ryder

Plekanec - Perezhogin, Latendresse or Lapierre

Bonk - Begin, Murray

Downey for depth

Chara, Markov, Souray, Rivet, Bouillon, Komisarek, Dandenault

Huet, Danis or Aebischer

We can dream....

I like the sounds of that, I'd love to have both of those guys in HABVILLE!! I love Chara especially he's not a bad size defenceman LMAO  only 6'9 and excellent but he'll be expensive to say the least...

But we got cap room after we got rid of REDLIGHT I mean The OPEN DORE ..

ARNOT IS TOO OLD.....MONTREAL NEEDS A TOP CENTRE THAT CAN PLAY AT A WORLD CLASS LEVEL FOR SEVERAL YEARS.....SOMEONE LIKE LECAVALLIER

I'm talking plausible solutions. What are the odds we'll get Lecavalier?

Well who's the one who said you can never have enough goaltending!

Seriously though, more scoring is a must so we definitely need another centre and I wouldn't mind having another solid puck moving D-man.

With the likes of Zednick, Bulis, Sundstrom, Ribs all not being back, could help shape a new look Habs for next season.

We should draft another goalie for sure....especially when we have a great opportunity like the 5th overall pick!!  I'm so glad we passed on the chance to draft a 6'3" defenseman like Marc Staal who absolutely dominated at the WJC and is touted to be a better all-around hockey player than his older brother.  Thank gawd, we picked up another tender like Carey Price, who couldn't even make the WJC team.

The Canadiens have such a rich history of succesful draft picks...

Yeah I agree that we need a scoring centre and a defenceman who can move the puck... I love Vinny think we can get him out of Tampa Bay ??? Love to see Chara come into HABVILLE

I don't see Bulis or Zednik coming back especially Bulis he wasn't too thrilled with being benched late in the season as a healthy scratch...

I don't care if Ribeiro comes back or not either... If we can get HUET signed then all we need is a defenceman who can move the puck and a scoring centre and I also feel we need another winger who can pot 30 goals.. We need scoring..

Jason

About the same that we would get Chara

I said it was unlikely we would get Chara, but it's far more plausible than Lecavalier.

I may be the only one, but I hope we never try to get Chara. Chara is highly over rated. He’d be a drain on the finances. Plus, after seeing how he picked on Lecavalier in the Tampa - Ottawa series, I think Chara has no class. I’d love to see defensemen like Chris Pronger come to Montreal, but we can’t really complain. Our D is better than most. We have a good set of guys. I really think the Habs would have gone on to the second round if Koivu hadn’t have gotten injured. People really underestimate how much he brings to the team. Just because of his absence, all the lines got shuffled. You can’t just do that in the midst of a play-off series.

I fully agree that we need a strong, tough, scoring, center. I really thought that Theodore would’ve been traded for one. I was hoping to see Todd Bertuzzi put on the Blue, White, and Red. He could use the change of scenery to kick start his game and he’d bring a toughness to the team that right now I think only Souray has. With that said, I think we’re only a few years away from bringing the Cup back home.

You say you don't want Chara, yet you want Todd Bertuzzi. Seems kind of strange to me, but I'm not here to pass judgement. I for one hate Bertuzzi and never want to see a guy like him in Montreal. We need a big center for sure, but he's not who I would much rather see someone like Jason Arnott instead of Bertuzzi.
