I case anyone gets the idea I live in the country, I don't (I can just get there easily). This is the scene I see every day (still not too shabby): -- Edited by Nil d at 08:45, 2006-05-27
Not too shabby at all.....and it's home, right? Like you said....like Vancouver but without the mountains.

It has been my home for the past 22 years; I grew up in a small place about 300 Kms. from here, and that little village I will always consider my real "home". But I'm in Halifax by choice and will ikely never leave.
My wife has an Internet pal from Melbourne, Australia, where they recently held the Commonwealth Games. We were speculating that Halifax and Melbourne were similar, only Melbourne is much bigger. I have a friend who works for the Halifax Games Bid Committee (for 2014), and she recently went on a mission to Melbourne to oversee the Games there. She now calls Halifax "Little Melbourne", because they are so similar.
Must be the water that unites all these places. Sarasota, Florida also looks like Halifax.

This picture of our daughter was taken yesterday (June 4/06) before going to watch fireworks @ our local church. (It's to celebrate their annual "Italian Festival") The back ground of the original picture was icky (it was taken @ my sis-in-laws & her house is a sty) so I quickly cut & pasted her on to the beach. I think that she thinks she's a model. LOL
Just when i thought this thread had died...its back on the front page!! hahaha, daughter looks just like you MC, which side is she height wise? Ripples or yours?

Ahhhhhhhh! So cute! I'm always looking at mine and wondering what she's going to look like in 10 years (she'd be older, but I quit school before prom )
I see the pic is named Brooklyn Beach, I think I had a post a while back depicting the beautiful beaches here in Brooklyn....

She takes after Ripple for sure....There are 2 ways to tell how tall a child will be & both ways have her @ 5'10". (that's 5 1/2" taller than me... she's already almost 5' @ 10 years old) but she has my bone structure.
First way to tell is to take their measurements on their 2nd birthday (height) & times it by 2..... or Second way, get the distance (space) between their wrist bone measured...
The only difference between Brooklyn & myself (other than me being short) is she has auburn hair.
Wait...she IS a habs fan right? THis is a goHABS family album....
Of course she is..... she's my kid isn't she??? LOL She has as much Habs wear as I do.
You should hear her go toe to toe with Leaf fans.... she's a firecracker too just like her Mama. A few of her Leaf lovin' teachers love to tease her daily about the Habs & she has yet to back down. They tell me the witty little comebacks she uses.... she's just too cute for words.
Oh yeah..... She cried when Theo was traded. I mean sobbing w/ tears.
Ill admit i cried once over a trade... The Recchi trade...i was crushed....i was also 12 i think...just going into puberty...you know those uncontrolable hormones....

That was an awful day i may have shed a tear or two that day as well, but i would've been younger than twelve

rwp2le took the Muller trade hard.
We were in Sturgeon Falls at the funeral of my Grandfather when that trade happened, he heard it announced on the radio. I think he took the trade harder than the death of a family member....
He didn't really, I'm just exaggerating ....the trade just made a sad time ever more so.
This is my son Taylor, the 17 year old defenceman who cannot stay out of the penalty box (198 minutes in 49 games last winter). Anyway, he also races a go kart in the summer. An expensive sport as the Kart costs 7,000.
He is number 7. Last year he finished second in the points (mostly because he cannot fight in karting)

I saw some Oiler fans wearing the same orange tux's that rwp & the rest of the 2le's wore to the 70's X-mas party (did anyone notice the dudes the last 2 games in Edmonton?)
Anywho, I thought I'd post their 70's pic in the family album as a tribute to the Oiler fans....
I know it's been a while since this thread has been up... but I thought I'd add a few cute pictures. Our daughter started Karate today... here are some pictures of her after her first class. (She already thinks she's pro lol)
Here are 2 pics from tonight. (can you tell I'm sick??? lol my throat is swollen, my eyes are watery & my head hurt... but I didn't miss a second of the game )
First one is ray's brother, myself & ray (ray's the one in the hat)
Second one is ray's brother, ray & rwp2le (sorry it's so dark)
Johab wrote: Way to go Rip!! your beer is already empty!!! the way every beer should be withing 5 mins of purchasing. ray...whats wrong with your cup???
Ripple's beer was back @ our seats.(almost empty of course) He had gotten up to use the washroom (which is no place to bring an open glass of beer lol) durin' the 2nd intermission & he ran into ray @ our entrance. We were supposed to meet him before the game but we got tied up @ the boarder (long weekend) & only got to the HSBC 10 mins before puck drop.
