Yup not a good move for USA, Komi like I've said before is garbage, a waste of 220+lbs.......He'll take many bad penalties for them, get lost in the defensive zone.... He'll shoot 12 feet wide. Need more.

Scouts love him, GMs want him, and Team USA has him... but I guess they are all wrong... :)

Give the big guy a chance, I think he'll shine without so much grief on his back next year...

Komisarek was our top Dman in these playoffs (Defensivly) and he had a couple shots that got through to the net and were tipped or saved

No doubt Komisarek needs big time work with his puck handling skills (passing & shooting) - but he is mobile, decent defesively (remember he's young!), and loves to play physical - he needs to be developed.  It's great that he'll gain experience/make mistakes with Team USA.  The good news is, he can improve his puck handling/shooting skills, that's something that can be taught.

habs, i think Komi will develop into a Adam Foote Kind of guy. he will have tons of experience at mid 20s and is not a waste of 220+ lbs....he throws around pretty hard. He just needs to be a little smarter with and without the puck. i think he will be our corner stone one day!

I think it's a great move by Team USA.  They obviously see what many of us do at this point.  Despite a slow start to his year (all we all know about his mother), he was the Habs' best defenseman in the playoffs (sorry, Cube, you were close).

And it's a great move for the Habs, too!  Imagine the confidence he will gain by being chosen to play with the Big Boys in the World Championships.  It just has to help his confidence and development.

It's all good.

If we could fuse Komi and Cube (sounds like a great cop show) we'd have hustle 'n' muscle to spare...

I was very critical of Komisarek, but he is developing right before our eyes.  He had a very strong stint after the Olympics and he was actually improving with each game.  In the playoffs, you could argue that he was our best defenseman.  The patience is paying off.  I am optimistic about the next couple of years.  We have a great crop of young players from this season and some sure-fire young guys about to come up  (Latendresse, Price, Chipchura).  The Habs need to fill out the team with QUALITY veterans (and I don't mean Ribeiro, Bonk, Sundstrum and the like).

I'll give him a chance but never ever impressed me yet, maybe the only thing I like about him is that hard hitting and the way he stands up for his 'mates. Umm someone said Komi was our best D in the playoffs, defensively NO WAY it was all about Bouillon, big comeback for him.

We've been patient with other players. Why not with Komi? It's easier to be patient with a player when he shows constent signs of improvement. Komi had improved quite a bit form the first time we saw him in a Habs uniform. This international experience can only benefit himself and the Habs.
