i hear Captain Kirk is the leading candidate to assist Guy behind the bench next year! I myself think that is great idea. Kirk has always been a grit and Hustle kind of guy.
ive heard that also but during his intreview he said he was commited to a university that he coached last year , but im sure if he could go to montreal they would let him out.

Well i volunteer to do my part. I am going to Queen's next year, I will coach the team for half of Muller's salary and Muller can go to Montreal.
Sounds fair to me.
Muller should bring something to the PP and get more guys in the slot infront of the goalie something we didn't do enough this year.
We need a coach for the defencemen though. As of right now our Assistant coaches would be Muller, Jarvis, and Rollie M. Need someone to coach the D. Hmmm... love robinson but i doubt he would come...
Always liked Capt. Kirk and was saddened when he was traded. He would be another great character guy to have behind the bench. A great leader. I always thought Gilmour would look good there too. Wouldn't that burn Laff fans.
Muller is a great communicator. Carbo can be the tough, fair, & strict coach and Muller can be the communicator, motivator and fun coach who goofs around on the ice with the guys after practisce etc. This would be a great move for Montreal.
Besides with Jarvis and Carbo do we need another grinder behind the bench...I would like to see them bring in someone who can teach the young players how to snipe...
Its clear Higgins, Ryder, Perezhogin, and Plekanec are skilled but they need someone with offensive knowhow to show them the way...
Who you ask....I wish I knew.. any ideas? Maybe Richer is available? or perhaps Denis Savard...if only the Habs had a single star offensive player over last 15 years...
My best idea is to call up Super Mario and make him an offer he can't refuse.
I watched an interview with Steve Shutt once about Lafleur and Shutt said that Lafleur could never follow a set play on the pp. He said that Lafleur would always screw up the play. Lafleur was such a free spirit on the ice, anything he did was just natural talent and not a result of following set plays. These talents are great players but coaches or teachers they sometimes are not. Everything comes to them too easily and they don't know how to explain, guide, or coach others less talented than themselves. This I speak from my experience as a teacher. I have seen how the smart kids could never explain to or understand why the less smart ones never understood concepts they thought were so simple.
But I am not saying that Carbo, Jarvis, or Muller do not have talent. They have great hockey minds and tremendous leadership.
