For the team that we have, and the players we have, we had a very good, probably right on par for what we'd expect.
However, this isn't the Leafs. This is Montreal. And the last two playoff appearences we were "happy" to beat the Bruins, then lose to Carolina & TBay respectivley.
I truly hope Gainey learned what he has on this team. There are 7-8 guys who shouldn't be back, and if they are the wrong message is being sent to the team.
Riberio, Sundstrom, Bulis, Zednik, Markov (yup, he's a great talent, but he always has brutal playoffs and he's injury prone & lazy), and a few other spare parts not worth mentioning.
These spots need to be filled by players who are not one dimensional.

Wow! A pretty ballsy post but I can't say that I disagree.
Ya, I'm not happy that we aren't a better team, but I am happy a lesser team that backed in to the playoffs gave the 2nd place team a solid scare! Hopefully next year will mark Gainey's building and improving of a potentially solid team...trade Ribero for ANYTHNG!!!
