Interesting to note that Koivu is +1 while Ryder and Higgins are both -2.

They sure miss him out there!

Hey Nil'd...the Habs miss the Captain no doubt...but And-o just hates talk of +/-.

For example, Sunday the Habs lose 2-1 to Carolina...the entire Habs team finished the game +5...Carolina finished the game -5!!!

To quote Normie...NUFF SAID!!!

For the most part, plus minus stats are the most misleading ever and I place very little weight on them. In fact,. the NHL rules committee is going to have a very serious look at how that stat is calculated this summer and either adjustr the criteria or do away with that stat all together.

Having said that...I am calling out this team and it's coach right now. Gainey all I have heard is what a master you are....well surely a man with your knowledge has something more than a 1-4 trap up his sleeve?!??? Let your players skate like they can and let the chips fall where they may..what do you have to lose? To the players..what I have said all year..show some pride in the sweater and those who wore it before you boys. You di dnot like your last coach..fine..now show GAiney he made the right decision in not getting rid of YOU....GET 'ER DONE BOYS!!!

I'll make sure never to raise that subject again, Mr. O.

Ask yourself this question.

This season, when the Canadiens had to win the big games, how did they do?   it's gut check time, and in MUST win situations, this team is due for success.

All that keeps re-playing through my mind is the 2002 Playoff series against the Bruins. I still remember it like it was yesterday - Zednik getting the puck, shooting it into and open net, and sealing the win. I am from Cape Cod - big Bruins country! I remember getting lots of crap from kids at school after game 6 - but I kept saying it wasn't over... and it wasn't. I really hope these Habs can pull it off. I don't even care anymore about winning the next round or even the Stanley Cup - I just want to beat these Canes - to shut up the fans, to shut up the stupid announcers on FSN South who are so one-sided, to shut up Williams and Cam Ward - and to get revenge for Koivu.

I also HATE how they persitently shoot the puck in the net after the whistle blows, and how the Refs have sucked this series.

I was just about to note that!  Great to see Dick Irvin, one of the broadcasting greats.  Maybe we can channel Sainte Lorette through him?  Or Danny Gallivan - maybe our true patron saint?
Go Habs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AWESOME 1st period. That was a hungry hungry habs team! Me likey. Too funny that the Canes were bitching about goaltender interference. Not only is that ironic, but that tells me that Gainey may read this forum

No doubt about it.  Where else can he find 50 experts on the Habs, all in one place?

I'm watching the web stream from FOX South in Carolina.  Interesting hearing their guys do the play by play.  Interesting as well are the TV ads every five minutes trying to sell tickets to Carolina Hurricanes playoff games.  The Habs sell out every single seat for every game this year, and in Carolina you could walk up to the window and buy a ticket for a GD playoff game.

Good second period.  It's like OT now!

Zednik's line looking good.  Kovalev seems to be getting very little ice time, and looks not quite right when he's on.  There's definitely something not right with him.

But the Habs ended the period strongly, and I hope it can carry over into the third.

Go Habs!!!!!!!!!
