Barry...What if?

The is not only directed to Barry , of course....

Three-quarters into the season I thought that the only way I would want to keep Ribeiro and Zednik next season is if they ended the regular season strong and had a very solid post season. If not, they should be traded.

If the season ended after last night's game, would you attempt to trade Ribs, Zed, both, or none? I realize it's a general question because it all depends who we get in return or if we pickup some other players in the off season. I guess my question is, do you think that either of these players shouldn't be a Hab any longer  regardless of the obvious compensation we would get in return.

How can you even throw Ribs in the same sentence as Zed. Sure, Zed has struggled but he's having a decent playoffs. He's working his butt off for us in the corners and forechecking hard. He also has a couple goals to go along with it. He's not hurting us at all.

That's what I'm seeing too. I would have a hard time trading away a player like him now. He's been a force in the playoffs so far...but he really had horrible regular season and I think these five games may have prolonged his stay with the Habs.

I think he's kind of our power forward. It has been a difficult season to adjust to the rules. He's redeeming himself.

As for Ribs, what you see is what you get. Not a first line center but has had to be in his young carrier too often. He's having a better playoffs but like Saks, he isn't a goal scorer. Blame Gainey for not addressing this obvious need for the last few seasons. When Gainey does finally upgrade this position and if he does trade Ribs, he won't be missed. I actually think we're lucky Canes had no goalie the first two games or no way are we in this series without any centers.
