I agree with you. Like the guys on the Team 990 said this morning, the "easy excuse or way out now is to point to the Koivu injury and use it as an excuse". BS. There are several ways to look at this. If Koivu is indeed the player and leader that every guy on this team worships, why are these guys NOT rallying around their fallen captain? I say it is simply a total lack of character on this team or they would be. The other question is the demeanour of Gainey behind the bench. When CJ was not getting the job done, many on here told me that it was "the coach's job to rally and motivate the players". Well get 'er done then Bob.

I really don't think it's the saku issue ..more or less the ref. issue...and the picking of players come on "DOWNEY" i've seen the games and I didn't see 1 fight,really I didn't,wasn't that supposed to be his job? Kostitsyn, Andrei is the guy who should replace SAKU not "DOWNEY" lol .If I wanted my team to play defence, yes then give downey a shot...but we need scoring right now . First game he played --a goal- give the kid a shot I say.
