I am a Bob Gainey fan and do respect him but he made some glaring coaching errors tonight. Why oh why does he put Riberio and Bulis out time after time to start the PP when they had done absolutely nothing on the PP all game. Riberio refuses to compete for loose pucks in the corner and he is snakebitten.......why keep putting him out???? Higgins and Ryder hardly saw any ice tonight. Put Begin out to stand in front of the net and get the puck in the corners. He finally put Downey back in the lineup........he should of in game 4. Why dress Streit for his 3 shifts????? I think we'll be back for game 7 but Gainey has to make better decisions on the bench. We can't complain about the refing tonight. Huet was incredible but so was Ward. Special teams again prove to be the difference in the playoffs.

I'm starting to wonder about Ribeiro on the PP myself. I remember it especially in the games I had to listen to on the radio (1-3) where every time I heard the name Ribeiro I knew the Canes were about to get the puck back. It'd be:
"[insert defenseman or Bulis] crosses the blue line into the Carolina zone. Over to Kovalev. Kovalev [insert various dipsy-doodling and then circling back to top of circle after not being able to get through two guys] can't find room and passes to Ribeiro. Ribeiro takes on [insert name].....and [insert Carolina player] comes up with the puck and relieves the pressure."
9 out of 10 times! Man....But then, mysteriously, I'd read on this board that he had played well, looked scrappy, better than Koivu, etc... I believed it all, and posted a bunch pro-Ribeiro comments.
