That is the first damn thing I thought of when I saw Mr Hair. We just cannot get a break. I want that BG to yell at a ref or something he just looks like he does not care and it trickles down to the players

Holy cow Johab, settle down. 20 minutes in and we're down 1-0. Habs looked stronger at the end of the 2nd, go to your happy place man! Maybe I'm watching a different game, but the game I saw the Habs took two stupid penalties they deserved. ALL the refs can't hate the Habs guys.

Bettman says that any refs who put their whistles away will be put away. Sure they've been making the calls, but half the time they are making the wrong calls. AND Montreal is being victimized with NON calls AND bad calls. The high stick to saku...4 minute minor that COULD have put the game away for us. The high stick on Markov...COULD have resulted in habs winning the game. BUT NOOOOO The refs dont want to call anything that might decide the outcome of the game, but as soon as we go into overtime, pull out those whistles and start calling EVERYTHING again. ( both winning goals for carolina i believe were PP goals. 1 was in OT ) I AM SICK AND TIRED OF THE REFFING!!! Montreal NEVER gets a break AND the league should know better than to throw a Ref who OBVIOUSLY has something against Montreal into a playoff game. Regular season FINE....but not a game that will most likely decide the winner of the series. Im not upset about the habs most likely exiting the playoffs in the first round, but the WAY they are exiting. It almost seems like they have given up and dont care anymore. And how can you blame them. The way the games have gone, id be pretty pissed off too. At least Rivet is showing some emotion tonight. I hope it carries through to other players in the locker room, because right now, this is pathetic hockey.

Habs have to start moving their feet like carolina is. When you are not skating hard and the other team is, you take alot of hooking and holding calls. The one call against Carolina was because the habs outworked them and actually put some sustained pressure on. Montreal is talking about getting bodies to the net, but unless they can start actually keeping the puck in the Carolina end that will be impossible.

Dandenaults penalty was WAY more like the carolina player going down holding the stick under his arms that a dandenault hook. I HATE that stupid call. And it is EVERYWHERE in hockey. AS SOON as a player feels a stick under his arm he EMMEDIATELY CLOSES his arm on the stick and when the player whos stick is now trapped under the other players arm tries to get his stick back by pulling it away goes to the box for " hooking " when really it is HOLDING THE STICK. Im not sure why this hasnt been brought up because i KNOW coaches use this as part of their game. ....mine did...and i hated seeing it.... but it works, and some coaches just have NO class....

Johab that is the first thing I said to my son. That guy closed his armpit on the stick. It was not a hook. What I see is if there is anything that remotely looks like a minor intraction its Habs Penalty all the way. I do not want to sound like a whiner , but thats the way I have seen it since 3rd game. When we went up 2 zip, the refs and NHL became nervous and the habs were a threat to the canes and the calls were going to start going against the Habs. Sorry but thats the way I feel I know it sounds ridiculous but I am sorry.

I thought the same thing when I saw the ref wearing the helmet made of hair at the opening face off but I actually thought the game was called pretty good or at least better than the last two. It was the lack of heart,drive and a pretty awfull pp that killed us. With how bad they played and kept the cains to a one goal game can you imagine if the habs actually played a good game like the first two it would be a different story.

Bad Reffing and Missed calls is part of hockey. For instance in game four I can't remember which one of our guys was in alone on a break away and the Huricanes player made a great stick check and he was called for a hook.

Do you really want Bob Gainey too look like Pat Quinn and cry to the media. I think he has more class then that.

I herad on CBC that Bob put a complaint into the league about Brindamour crashing the net, and Brindamour ended up with a interference penaltly. We can cry about reffs every game but the fact is we didn't score to win. And the Hurricane pp goals were deserved penalties.

Andy and Keith, your posts are both bang on! Exactly how I feel and have said before. The reffing has been questionable, sure, but you need to rise above it and hope it will even out. I also agree that tonights game was fair, there were missed calls but it was pretty even, they missed them on both sides.

I have to agree. The big exception being game 3, which I think anyone would agree was a total botch by the officials. Unfortunately it may have cost us the series.

If some of the Habs have given up then I absolutely do blame them. There is no excuse for giving up. I don't care how bad the reffing is, if you stop working, stop trying, then you have lost the game, not the refs who missed calls. This is a young team and a character building experience, but we are also seeing a separation of who can bring it and who can't. The summer will bring changes. But until the summer we have hockey to play and this series IS NOT OVER!

Time to leave it all on the ice!
