It's unfortunate what happened to Williams. clearly, we should have sympathy for him, because both he and koivu were equally affected by what happened. thank god Williams has gathered up the courage and strength to rise above this adversity and notch a goal and an assist this game. My prayers are with Williams and his family in this difficult time. Stay strong man!!!
You know, I felt the same way, the guy feels terrible, it was an accident...yesterday! After Williams' 2 high stick fouls tonight, the league needs to look at this guy and suspend him. I still beleive his brutal stick fouls are accidental, but enough is enough. Accidental or not this guy obviously does not have control of his stick and is dangerous to EVERYONE on the ice!!!
Williams No I dont feel bad for him. he did waht he thought was right to help his team win. Its nothing but a game for him. Anyone who still feels bad for this guy after 2 stick infractions tonight can see he has no remorse he needs to be crambed into the boards ala Chris Nilan style. Adversity the only adversity he over came was deciding which stick to use on the next guy
Exactly. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, but he lacks responsibility and hopefully a suspension will instill some in him. I doubt the league will do it though; they don't want the bad press of a suspension in the play-offs.
no dave , i was refering to the original post , i hit the reply button on the post im trying to reply to but it keeps getting pushed to the buttom , is it supposed to be that way .
In fact, let's through him in prison! Maybe even the electric chair. He has to be the first guy ever to be guilty of a high stick in two consecutive (2!) games! We in the Caniac nation however know about real cheap shots, ...Orpik on Cole, OUR best player! How about a broken neck = an insulting 3 game suspension...
C'mon now. Each of these were accidental. The one to Koivu was sad to see but accidental nonetheless. I hope Saku is okay...a class act and an inspiration, let alone a great player.

Ahhh go have a tailgate party We all agree that the high sticks by Williams were accidental, ALL THREE OF THEM. And I also beleive that Williams feels horrible about Saku. But my concern is that Williams is a player who does not have control of his stick and should be corrected...either by the league or by frontier justice. BTW, the Habs didn't break Cole's neck, so while unfortunate, it's 100% irrelivant to this thread.

That hit on Cole while resulting in a terrible injury was not as bad as the media makes it out as. Cole did a kinda double take and when Orpik went to pin him his back was turned. I like the style Cole plays and i don't wish this type of injury on anyone but it was a dumb play on Coles part. Orpik was only trying to neutralize a good player. Gordie Howe always says that back in the day a player would never get hit from behind because they knew if they put there back to the boards they were going to get hammered.

Williams' "control of his stick" has not been an issue all year, other than his fine ability to put the puck in the net. Interesting take on blaming Cole for getting cheap-shotted. You can bet if Saku had been "Orpiked", I dare say that would not be the take of the fans of Le Hab's...I am sure we can agree there. Hmmmm...idea:perhaps if Saku hadn't have put his head down in a crowded slot that the stick would've never found his face.....Yes, sounds absured doesn't it. And I put this injury bit about Cole in there because I read so many Canadiens fans clamoring for a suspension of Williams. As a Canes fan I have seen numerous times (Marchmant on Ronny Francis) where a guy is cheap-shotted and out several games and only a slap on the wrist comes down from the NHL. ... As for the tailgating party.....French cuisine will be on the grill come Sunday! (And just so you know, I root for Habs to kick the #$@! out of the Loafs every time they play! Amateur hockey history buff...love Boom-Boom and Plante - The Innovators)

Well the boys were in a pickle, not only was Boss Hogg close on their tail, but Enos had their number, too!
Good thing Daisy was there with some completely irrelevant comparisons to save the day! And the good thing is that she didn't have to pull the war atrocities deal out of the back pocket of them cute little shorts of hers!
so "storm surge", what is your view on cheating your way right back into this series with eye-shattering missed calls, lame OT calls, and winning goals that involve excessive goaltender interference?

Ah, when geniuses like this start throwing out the ol' tired redneck jokes you know there is some frustration mounting. I love it! ... And you're right...comparing the situation of the Habs losing there best player to injury like the 'Canes did, along with the issue of suspension / called for suspension...no relation at all...Indeed, can't see the relevance at all. Brilliant observation chief! As for Sun-dee, I think I'll be a fixin' me some uh dem bar-bee-kew eees-car-goats 'at dem dar frenchie mans eat at duh ice horsepucky game on this here comin' Sabbath....yeeeeeeeeeee-hawwwwwwwwww indeedy!!!!!!!

I must agree that, clearly, the only explanation for the 'Canes success ALL year, but particularly against the Habs and most particluarly in the playoffs, is that the US gov't and the Carlina Hurricanes organization have bribed Gary B. and the officials to conspire against the most storied franchise in hockey, and perhaps all of professional sports. Awful ... the obvious cheating on behalf of the officials in the 'Canes favor. Look, of course there have been some awful calls and no-calls (the Koivu thing of course was a totally absurd missed call!), as in any playoff series, but...C'mon guy! ... Let's just say good luck to one another and watch some more exciting hockey on Sunday. Good luck to you and the Habs.

What a boring and lame attempt at stirring things up, I'd expect it of the Leafs fans but not...ah wait a minute, Canes fans Leafs fans 6 of one half dozen of another. Do you really think anyone here is foolish enogh to fall for your grade school baiting tactics...
superhab wrote: brooklynhabfan wrote: The Kahuna wrote: half dozen of another. I think half dozen is the current number of Canes fans out there, isn't it.... Dont exagerate! Its more like three. I mean they don't even ssell out playoff games
I hear they give tickets away with a six pack of Genesee Cream Ale...
Nice computer graphic skills! I chuckled heartily myself when I saw it...Glad to see you spent so much time responding to a southern hockey boys comments....I know you didn't get stirred up by all my comments !
You go on blaming the refs. I'm sure if they Habs get by the 'Canes then it'll be the Devils that get all the calls, then the next team....I get it...
