I missed the first AB, but I'm leaning towards RDS for the third

Too many gaps in this game. Faceoffs aren't doing well. Bonk not meant for the scoring lines. Huet is off tonight and the Kovy line just isn't doing it... The only line with some juice is the Pleks line.

2 minutes left. Can they tie it up? Let's go boys.

Well, we're down to a best of 3 now. I wonder if Gainey is thinking goalie change? I'd vote to stick with Huet.

Not to lose too much faith but not sure the Habs can get back into this series. Not alot of players stepped up tonight other than the third line, Dandy and Bouillon. The rest of the guys looked pretty much lost out there including Huet who was battling the puck all night.

Not Huet's fault. This game could've been an uneven loss without his 3-4 huge desperation saves. Team wasn't fully there tonight. Some key guys have suddenly disappeared: the defense for one, giving up 2-on-1s, where was the Kovalev line (0 shots on goal between them)?, etc....

Big kudos to Bouillon, Plekanec and Perezhogin, best players tonight.

Let's hope the boys rebound in Carolina. Emotion can cut both ways, and Habs seemed drained by the drama, not desperate to win.

I think they can do it. Go HABS go!

You're right about Dandenault, he did step it up.
Anybody else think maybe Ward will collapse in game 5?

I still think we can win, but you're right, more guys have to bring their A-Game. Huet was good, but not his best. Huet needs to outplay the rook at the other end for us to win this series.

Real lack of leadership tonight... I expected more character and focus from this team. This has been a problem all year, but I thought we had turned a corner. Gainey needs to rectify this problem in the summer, but let's hope they can bounce back enough to take the series. Many predicted 6 or 7 games and that is what it will be.

Show us what ya' got!

All our shots were from the outside and barely any screens, Ward didn't have alot of work tonight.

Huet was fighting the puck, big rebounds and never could find it in the scramble.

I agree fully! I can't stand the guy. As much as I was yelling at the Habs like I always do during a game, I found myself yelling for Neale to shut up. It's times like these I wish I had RDS. But Hughson is good, so he somewhat makes up for it.

Anyway, commentary aside, a bad first period cost us the game. I think Gainey will need to have a talk with them before the next game and tell them that they need to come out strong right from the get go. You take out that first period and I thought Montreal was the better team. And Ward is beatable. He wasn't nearly as good as he was in game 3. The team just wasn't as good and the chances weren't as great. So I think with a strong effort in game 5, we should be able to win.

I second that motion!!!! What a bias moron. He can't control his disdain for Montreal. What a cheap crack at Markov in the last 15 seconds of the third. He said, "Can Markov skate any slower?" with such contempt.

HNIC has to get rid of him.

Done. Thanks for the link Mr. Kahuna. I didn't even hear Neale tonight. But I know EXACTLY what you are talking about, believe me.

You know, from the good old days when they actually showed Habs games in English during the regular season?

My girlfriend, who knows nothing about hockey (she just looks cute in a Habs jersey), even cutely quiped, "what's that mans problem?" with regards to Neale. I laughed it off and later switched to RDS.

Just got back from the game.

My observations.  Not as loud in the Club section than it is up in the rafters.  I guess because in the Club section where I was at, people are so stuff from all the free food.

Canadiens started the game just as I expected.   FLAT FLAT FLAT.  I understand Koivu's loss is huge, but it's not as if he plays every shift.  Where was Kovalev?  Ribeiro?  Kovy had no shots on goal.

Higgins struggled without Koivu.  He too had no shots.

We benefited from the PP.  Bouillon played huge.   Huet was average but made some tough saves look easy.  I thought he was slow to move across on the second goal. There were a couple defensive breakdowns.

Offensively, Habs only woke up in late 1st period, and picked it up in the second, only to stall in the third.

On Sunday, keep in mind that Carolina has last change, so Ribeiro will get killed again on face-offs.  He was 9-for-20.   Horrible.

Mario, a good report-thanks.  It appears that, on the third Carolina goal especially after Don Cherry pointed out and backed it up with replay, that Huet was really interferred with.  Were there other people in your area who felt the same way.  I guess, as Ron McLean said, the ref. called back one goal and there was no way they were going to disallow a second.

True, it would be hard to disallow a second goal. But even so, if you're the ref you should put that aside and do your job.
