Apology to Koivu???
Permalink Closed

Why hasnt there been a public statement/apology from the Carolina Hurricanes or from Justin Williams himself to the canadiens or to Koivu about the incident, which god forbid, could be career threatning??? Am i wrong here????? Has this incident been brushed off with the media like it was nothing?

I agree, but it might happen and not get picked up by the media. If I were Williams, I make damn sure that Koivu knew it was accidental and that I was sorry -- but I'd also try to keep it out of the headlines. Here's hoping that's what has happened or will happen.

Read this recation from the head of officials..very much a "oh well we are human" reaction to it..what a joke. Just shows that once again, there is ZERO accountabilty. Officials are granted full immunity because the players or coaches cannot say anything even remotely resembling cirticisism lest they get suspended.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of these guys won't get an "accidental" stick in the face at some point, then we'd see how "human" the reaction would be...

Not that I would dream of advocating such action...

And-o is a little surprised at this thread, although And-o to is still miffed at how this is going to go totally unpunished!

...guys...girls...this life is sooooo much bigger than hockey!

Please let's just all hope that Saku can see...then maybe play again!!!

And-o guarantees you all that Justin Williams feels GAWD AWFUL ENOUGH!!!

When the time is right (if he hasn't already done so)...he will face him man-to-man (hopefully they can both joke about it over a cold one)!!!

...let's just focus on game 4!

I just read this also....what a joke (and I don't mean funny).  Have you ever noticed that the only thing that changes is change?

absolutely pathetic.  i love how the general attitude is "aww man, poor Williams.... come on we can't be hard on him, it was just an accident.... poor guy, he took another guy's eye out, he must feel so bad.  lets buy him a present".   no punishment given to him, no compensation given to us, no apology, not even a single make-up call.  nothing.  now our captain's career may be over, and Carolina is just smiling in the interviews about a "big win".  i'm thoroughly disgusted.

It's all a big fu##ing joke.  Right down to the blind zebras on the ice.  It takes a helluva lot to piss hockeyman off and last night's farce did it.  I couldn't even post last night decicing to wait and cool off,  but guess what it didn't work.

Walkom says no one has to tell those guys, they're thinking "we might have mad A mistake"

Arrrgh - man it's true - if the fish stinks, it stinks from the head down.

Who do they think they are? Doctors?

You know what I would like? Everyone to throw constant crap at the referees during the game. Even if penalties are given. It'll send a signal that we are fed up.
