I've never got personal on this board with anyone or called anyone a name but tonight, I can't believe the no class cheap remarks especially from a loser named Larry. I guess he wanted to make his 30th post a glorified one. Of course we're not happy with the outcome!
Many of us wanted Saks to play better and a few of us stated it. This is a sports forum right? I was of the opinion that he needed to step it up but not in the hospital with an eye injury!
This game was exactly why he needed to play better. The previous two games were an aberation and I knew Canes were much better than that with a goalie. The sad part of it was Saks looked like he had more jump...had a good hit in the first and ironically got hurt going to the net. For sure we would of been in better shape with Saks playing the whole game. When he's playing his best...we all know what a difference he's and should be at this time of year.
OK now, if you're the Captain, you don't want your team to fold. I'm sure Habs will come out and play hard now as they did when Zed went out a couple playoffs ago. They will still win this series. I think there's enough leadership on this team and behind the bench to keep this team on track. I'm sure the boys are sickened with worry for their Captain but if they direct their emotions to the task at hand, they will prevail.
An injury like that transcends hockey. Hope the guy's ok.
As for the hockey....
I'm sure you're right that the captain going down will inspire the team, because I think this team has shown character in these playoffs. This has not been a team that folds lately. There are a lot of other leaders on this team too. Begin should be back soon and he brings the kind of fire to the game people know from our captain. Rivet and Souray are true leaders. And Kovalev and Zednik WILL pick up the slack.
Only thing is, that emotion can only carry us so far, and I worry about the long-term effect of an injury to our best player at our thinnest position. But hey, am I the only one who thought Bonk, Ribeiro and Plekanec all played like demons, totally on fire? (Unfortunately Ryder and Higgins looked a bit rudderless after Saks went down, understandably.)
Ab, the body of your posts is excellent (I'd stay away from the personal stuff though, no matter how provoked...just my ). As for the rest of your post, you show tons of class! NOBODY wishes an injury on one of our guys. Love him or hate him, he's our captain and a valuable player when he plays his best...time for all of us to rally around Saks and I know every last member of our board knows that!

I try to stay away from the personal bashing as much as possible but I had to vent that off my chest.
AB, let this go down in history as one of the few times I completely agree with you! :) Habtastic
Ab, as much as I keep preaching to everyone to keep the posts "non personal", I believe I am guilty also...."get a life" is not nice.....so, "mea culpa". We love our boys, each in our own way
It will be a good test for this team to show what character it has. It also makes Friday's game much more interesting.
I guess things were going to smooth for the CH... Just can't handle the non-call, brutal. Can refs be banned from the rest of the playoffs for things like that?
