Well my old buddy CJ continues to get more and more opportunities to find employment as Vancouver fired Marc Crawford today. A very good coach who was there 7 years but could not seem to motivate a bunch of players who just did not care. At least vancouver GM made an intelligent statement to the media
"In no way is this the end of the changes here. Each and every player in that dressingroom is partly responsible for our lack of success and more changes are coming"
WOW!!! Radical!!! Actually implying that spoiled players should need to be accountable along with a coach when things do not go well!???? Say it ain't so!!

Two potential candidates mentioned on TSN were Pat Quinn and Alain Vignault. I'd love to see Vignault resurface in the NHL - Claude Julien too, of course!

to bad TED NOLAN couldn't get a shot at one of those jobs.
Rumour has been circulated that Ted Nolan has been black listed by the GMs that is why he is not working right now. I don't recall the details but it was a disagreement between Nolan and the GM that caused Nolan to be fired and black listed. So I heard.

The line on Nolan is that he constantly fought with Muckler while in Buffalo. Muckler couldn't fire him initially, as Nolan won coach of the year. I have brought him up before, and apparently he is coaching in Moncton, NB. I remember the controversy in a game when the crowd started shouting racial slurs at him earlier this season. Moncton is in the playoffs (semi-finals being played right now).
I have heard that the firing of Crawford will expedite the hiring of Maurice in Toronto, as they don't want him to be lured away.

Moncton is the #1 ranked junior team in Canada. They just demolished the Halifax Mooseheads (after whipping them all year). He must be doing something right.

I don't know how much of this is true, but the rumour in the Buffalo area has always been that something happened between Ted Nolan and the wife of a certain "Superstar" Buffalo Sabres goaltender at the time and that is the reason for the blackballing. Again I don't know how true it is, just something i have heard on many occasions in southern ontario/buffalo area.
As far as Julien goes, I'd love to see him get the L.A. job or Vancouver job. I look at the L.A. job as a near perfect fit for him. The perfect fit for his style would be Columbus if they fire their coach, or possibly a job in St. louis, who knows.
I also think Alain Vignault would be great in Vancouver. Hes always been a smart coach IMO.
