Gainey and carbo have shown their inexperience as coaches tonite. Putting Koivu out (without another center) to take a draw with a minute left and the goalie on the bench was just plain stupid and inexcusable. Garth Murray loses the draw cleanly (probably Murray's first face off in his career) and the game is tied. John asked if we had an advantage over Laviolette in coaching. Not tonite. What was BONK DOING ON THE BENCH IN THAT SITUATION?!???He has outcoached Gainey big time. Not only on the draw that tied the game but can someone tell me why we are so bad on the penalty kill with those guys coaching? Pfft.

I seem to recall a certain coach who, I think it was failed to use the best faceoff man(perrault) which lost the habs a big playoff game? Something like that.

In any case...man do I agree with you!! I cannot understand what a guy like Murray was doing out there anyway!!!

Plus. Let me be the first to say...I have not been impressed with Koivu tonight at all. I actually like the play of Plek better. I know I know...And-o will glow over this one, but I think it's true.

However...Koivu scores in the second OT to redeem himself.

Huet is scaring me in nets. For some reason I worry about any shot against him now. Let's go Huet, get your confidence back. McGuire wasn't right about you.

Guys, the reason Murray took the draw was because Koivu jumped the gun and was kicked out.

Why was Koivu taking the faceoff, because he's easily been our best guy in the circle tonight.

Why Murray next? Because he actually has a lot of experience playing centre.

He's average 3 faceoffs/game this year, at 46%

Really? In any case, Bonk would have been the vetern required IMO

CBC's 3 stars were Ryder Kovalev Staal, but at the rink itself they were Ryder Kovalev Brind'amour.  Staal had four assists and was all over the ice; I can't see how the home town star-namer left him off!

In any event........... I don't care!

Wooooooo Hoooooooooooo Ryder!!!!!! Free beer in Newfoundland tomorrow!!!!!!!!!

Like a dog without a bone; an actor all alone................

As for Ribs, three bits of advice for the off-season:

1. Eat hamburgers until you've put on 15 pounds.

2.  Lift weights - 3 hours a day.

3. Shoot 500 shots a day with a lead puck.

Then arrive at training camp in bad humour......................

They were contemplating his return in the third period, so it can't be that bad.  He appeared to get a puck in the family jewels.  Any male of the species will attest that that hurts!

Hope he's back for the next game.  They missed his cannon on the PP.

wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

way to go boys......the earlier version of the habs this year would have folded and went home satisfied with the split.  on a few occasions they could have let the game go to carolina but they refused to hand it over. you have to be proud of the way they kept fighting all game long even though there is still room for improvement all over the ice.

next game we got to come out flying and use the home town crowd to our advantage......jump all over them early and crush their spirits further.

ole ole ole ole ole ole

Add to that a strict skating regiment with a parachute tied to his back and we'd have a viable second-line centre.
