AB Habman was bang-on calling Kovy & Huet as being the key Habs for these playoffs!!! Any and all success of this team rides primarily on their shoulders!!!
Also...Pleks was the Habs best centreman by a country mile tonight!!!
...however, how 'bout the contributions of the PK boys from the so-called 4th line!!!?
And-o will be the first to say...NO WAY did he see that win coming!!!
No credit to Saku on keeping the puck in the Carolina zone for the Habs first goal and then the pass up to Sundstrom leading to the Higgins goal?
Anyways... somethings will never change. The Habs as a team played a good game, not great. They got some good bounces and will need to play better in the 2nd game if they are to be successful again.
Great night from Huet and Kovy, sweet plays by Pleks and solid PK from Bonk and Sundstrom. These are some of the highlight players of the night but this win was a TEAM win.
Ando , i agree. But i also do agree with JohnM with the Efforts of Koivu, iam not going to say he was great, but he did have an unbelievable effort. Souray redeemed himself with that Goal late in the Period. here are the players that were KEY for tonite.....
ALL OF THEM...great team effort...Best game of the year...From Murray to Koivu...From Huet to Dandenault......Lets hope this Keeps up for next game.

...and no blame either...for the lazy line change that directly caused Carolina's full-tilt first minute rush for a goal...and the all-night face-off dot fiasco!
Yes...some things will never change...it always has to come back to being about Saku!
As And-o originally stated though...Kovy, Huet, Pleks, Bonk & Sunny were HUGE in the first game of the 'real season'!
Did Koviu even dress? Don't think I heard his name until now. We need Koviu to show up big time. I don't think Kovalev played a great game either, but he made the best of his 2 shots on goal.

The first goal was directly related to the ref getting in Sourays way and the jitters Huet must have been feeling.

I didn't think Huet had to make many real big saves. Carolina was out of it from 0:51 of the first and I thank the Montreal defense for that. They made Carolina's defense look like high school kids.
