Anyone think we have the advantage behind the bench?

Just wondering, with BG, Carbo and Jarvis behind the bench with all the cups they have won, who has the advantage behind the bench at this time of year, Carolina or the Habs?

I guess we'll know more in about 3 hrs...

Nobody could ever convince And-o that having the likes of Gainey/Carbo & Jarvis in the dressing room is not an advantage...unfortunately though, we are 20-25 years too late to have them lace'em up for real!

So far so good for the coaching behind the Habs bench over the Carolina coaches. Now it is time for a new test. 3-2.

John- in one word..NOOOOOOOO. What was Gainey doing with Koivu taking the draw with a minute left and no other center? Koivu has not been winning many, then gets thrown out of the circle and MURRAY takes the draw. One of the worst moves I have seen by any coach in some time.

Bad move not having two centers out there. Not sure what he was thinking. Kinda like Therrien from 4 years ago.

The problem was he was NOT thinking John. I coach bantam AAA and know enough to have 2 centers out there in that situation.

You guys Murray was originally a centre. He's even played at centre for the Habs a few times already this season.

Also, Koivu's faceoff % this game so far: 58% (including 8 for 16 against their best guy, Brind'Amour)

Bonk: 46%

I didn't know that Plouf. I guess I would've had two proven centers out there, i.e. Koivu and Bonk.

Plouf- unfortuantely in Koivu's faceoff stats  they do NOT include ho wmany times he got tossed from teh circle. Do you really think that Koivu ONLY took 16 draws all night?!??? In actuality he took 24 and was tossed out 8 times, including the key one on the tying goal. Stats can be very deceiving. Bonk was not tossed out of the circle once all night and would have been much better at least at tying up Brindamour. Admit it. Gainey f**ked up due to inexperience. Once again, gainey gets a free ride.

He was the coach behind the winning team Barry, we wouldn't be in this spot if CJ was behind the bench.

BG has brought a new dimension to this team.

I do question the move of not having Bonk out there, but you gotta give him credit for getting 2 wins in Carolina.

Perhaps not..but something tells me had it been CJ behind the bench and we lost last night after that screw up, the tone would be MUCH different on this board today. Terms like "rookie coach" would be flying around and "it is about time we got someone with experience" etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc . He screwed up John and it almost cost us the game. Is that so tough to admit?

Well put Johnny. But I will say this. The guy (BG) has a knack for falling in a bucket of poop and still come out smelling like a dozen roses. Having said that, as a habs fan, I am SURE GLAD HE DOES!!!
