BG confirmed this not too long ago.
It was the only logical choice.

The delay was just to keep the media from creating other stories. I say Gainey knew and had spoken to both our goalies weeks ago. Baring a complete colapse OR if we take a lead in a series (3-1 or 3-0) I expect Huet to start until we are deparate for a change.

Figaro, I totally agree. I think that the PR campaign relays info that is very different than what actually goes on in the locker-room.

Is he going in cold now though? It may take him a couple games to get hot again. Do we have a couple games?

Only time will tell. RIght now, im in silent mode. I will NOT be saying much until after the first game about the matchup. I am not making ANY predictions, or assumptions about players or lines or moves Gainey makes. I am not the most confident going into the playoffs BUT i do like the fact we're up a team we lost to 4 years ago. There is still hate between these cities. Koivu and Brind'amour ( the guy is a dinosaur ) still remember for sure! My ONLY hope is Rechhi doesnt continue his habs killing as he ALWAYS does!

If he went cold it is because BG stopped his winning streak when he started Abby when Huet was HOT

Huet starting is the only logical choice in my mind. The man basically carried us into the playoffs on his back and deserves the start. GO HABS GO !!!!

Ya I agree that it's the best choice choosing Huet to start but say first game he allows 4 goals or even 3 I expect Gainey to swap then.... But in the playoffs you can't really swap since goalies get cold. GO HUET!

It's about time Gainey tuned in to the obvious. Cripes, he was starting to remind me of Mario Tremblay's irrationalities. Gainey didn't rest Huet, he benched him. Sheesh!! One game's practice before the post-season. Gainey is an idiot.

Careful, the Gainey/Saks worshippers will get you but in a very positive way
