Hey AB..... Here's today's game song.





The Gainey ( originally The Gambler ~ Kenny Rogers)





About 3 months ago, we had a team bound for nowhere, 


Then they gave us Carbo & Gainey; sent to wake us up from our sleep
They both took turns a sharin' the blame for how our team was playin'
Til' anger overtook them and they began to speak

They said: "Guys, you show no life, & we see it in your faces
And watchin' how you're playin', wipe the sleep out of your eyes
And if you don't mind us sayin', you're in need of some replacing
but before we do anything, we will give you some advice"

You need to shut your mouth & listen, there is no time to wallow
Then they said that we'd regret; not giving more of a fight
Then the rink got really quiet and Bob's face lost all expression
He said: "If you're gonna play the game, boys, you better learn to play it right"

"'Cause ev'ry player knows that the secret to survival
Is knowin' when to throw a hit and when to stay on your feet
Act like ev'ry shot's the winner, & no one here's a loser
And the best that you can hope for is the cup in a clean sweep"

"You got to know when to hit 'em; know when to tip 'em
Know when to skate away; know when to run
You never act like a moron, or say that you're not able
There'll be time enough for poutin' when the season's done"

And when Bob finished speakin', he turned back towards the exit
walked out of the Bell Centre; & took off in his jeep
but somehow during his rantin', we all did start believin'
in his final words we found the spirit we need to keep

 As it stands MC girl, this song is important because right now, as it stands, we play Canes if we lose this game and Tampa win theirs. We need this one also in my books...I rather play Sens in first round.


 PS. Way better than the Kenny Rogers version

Another classic, MC!  Keep it up.


BTW, I prayed to to our Patron Saint, Sainte Lorette, at Easter (I did, really), so she seems to have come through as well.  We need all the help we can get.

Thanks guys, not sure if I have 16 in me but I could try. Some players might end up with multiple songs. A few of the players names might be hard to rhyme with. Any player requests? LOL
