after reading some of the topics and postings, do you get the feeling that some people have given up on the habs and now feel that the only thing left to do is blame somebody, anybody! the habs are playing some pretty good teams and have played well, but fall short. even if the habs don't make the play-offs(which they will) they had a good year and are in it to the end, can we say we saw exciting hockey all year? yes, i enjoyed the habs all year and know they will get better in the years to come! DON'T BITCH OR BLAME ANYONE, THANK YOU HABS FOR EXCITING HOCKEY ALL YEAR.
The Hab's have played some really good hockey lately → proof: only 3 losses in there last 13 games. I think that is a pretty good record. We have played well lately and we deserve to be in the playoff.
I do not understand why people have given up on the Habs so quickly. We are still in the playoffs at this moment, and we still have 1 game left to play. Maybe I am being overly optimistic, but hey ... isn't that what fans are supposed to do. Aren't we suppose to believe that the seemingly impossible is possible.
Like Souray said: "I will only worry when the last buzzer goes off and we are not in the playoff". The last time I checked, the last buzzer still hasn't gone off, the season is not over yet and we still have to play one last game.
So do not jump ship just yet. Hang in there because WE WILL MAKE THE PLAYOFFS.

Wow, you surprise me, don't you have some expectations? In my books, it's a sin not to make the playoffs. Habs went through enough of those lean years. If Gainey has been on a rebuilding mission for the past three seasons then why regress now?
Also, remember in a bussiness, your GM's job is to make revenue. One small trade or addition this year could of pushed us over the hump if we miss the playoffs by one point. Anyways, we'll wait and see. We still have a chance.
I'm with you guys, it's been great hockey in a playoff atmosphere for the past few weeks and I've been loving it. I'm not worried, in fact I've made multiple gaurantees we'll get in. Note to the bandwagon bailers...DON'T WORRY, BE HAPPY
So it's all Gainey's fault if the don't make the playoffs? I'm personally sick of this crap. It's Gainey who put on the skates, right? So all GM's who's team didn't make the playoffs should be fired. We were better off with Savard and Houle, the Molson Beer Sales man, right? With the team we had, i'm proud that the guys were able to turn it around and end the season with a strong 93 or more points.
Is it a sin to miss the playoffs? In Mtl, maybe it is but most people take things for what they really are. It's not always black or white. This year was not black nor white, there was a grey zone. It was a year filled with changes and drama. The guys found a way to gel. Did they find out too late, maybe? BUT It is surely promising. Ya, Ya you're going to say that we say that every year. Maybe, but now most of us know it's not wishful thinking, it's an evolution.
I too wanted to put my fist through the tele screen last night but after an hour, I realized that they really freakin' gave it their all last night....AND IT IS (FACT) A TIGHT RACE. Win as a team and loose as a team. To call out one player or the GM or the Coach (who did a very job) is just plain bogus.
Ab you always compare an NHL team like any other company. It's similar but not the same at all. You have to deal with players getting physical injuries, players refusing to come to work because they are not happy with their contract. You deal with arbitration. There's free agency and player trades. There's fan and journalist pressure. There's salary caps....etc, etc, etc. It's exactly like any other company, ya right? It's similar because it's a business but you can't generalize and say it's like any other company...come on! A GM in HOCKEY should be judged on how he handled adversity and what he did to improve the team. He handled adversity well and the team is better now than what it was.
THE HABS HAVE ONE GAME LEFT, CAN WE HOPE FOR THE BEST AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS BEFORE THE FINGER POINTING STARTS?

Key Lime....big long post for nothing. No one said it was all our GM''s fault but that he'll have to take some responsibility for it.
Also, I'm not generalizing, you are. We may still get in.
I haven't even ranted my miss playoff rants because she aint over till the fat lady sings.
BG wanted to make the coaching change and be the coach and GN damn it yest its his fault First when we needed every playoff piont he takes the hottest thing going (huet) and removes him from the nets and we went down from there. Yes it his fault. However I will say there is enough to go all around , but its at his feet
this makes me sick... the habs are damned if they make the playoffs damned if they dont. eerily reminiscent of the rider fans. worlds greatest fans my ass.
I agree with you Kevin, I've seen the best of fans and the worst of fans on this board...the latter is very disapointing. Something I'd expect from blue & white...not red, white & blue
Ok Ab, I added a little extra spice on that one but what if we do miss the playoffs? Do you think that BG deserves the majority of the flack? The reason is that I don't see it. It's the first year in about 10 years that I see an uncomprimising effort by players/coaches/management to improve. I'm just really proud of how they found a way to get better. We'll be a good team as of next season and I think Gainey is too involved to give up on him now. He'll make it work.
Tons of pressure for one game. Hopefully the sticks won't be gripped too tightly. Problem I see is getting behind one goal, Jersey tightening up defensively and that peckerwood Brodeur standing on his head again.......Gohabbers, I'm scared.

Last time I looked I did not see the coaches out there with skates on, yet they get canned all the time
