I forget...who was the idiot team that put Brierre on waivers again?
Small, but so shifty, fast and skilled. More talented than anyone of our Habs except Kovy. What do you guys think? He would sure look good on our second line rather than Ribs.

Well, he played for Phoenix for 5 years or so (shuffling back & forth between the NHL, AHL, and IHL*), so it must have been them.
* I guess with all that shuffling, Buffalo was an appropriate place to go............

Briere is a kind of a poor man' Koivu - sure he's having a decent season, but he's also injury prone, hasn't proven himself over time, and is playing for a team that's in such a groove that he doesn't a huge amount of defensive responsibilities. I like him, but I don't think he's such a big deal, since we have Plekanec coming up, who's got more size. I agree he'd probably be better than Ribeiro though. And yeah, he was no doubt a great waiver pickup.
Truth is, what Montreal needs is a big centre to complement Koivu. Not another...what'd you call it? Smurf?
