Steve Begin for prime minister

When ever I start a thread it always seems to be on the negative side.  Well I figured I would change things up.  I have really noticed how much we miss this guy.  When it comes to 1st, 2nd and 3rd efforts, who can compare to Stevie B?  He seems to have a way to get all the players around him up for the game.  I never in my life imagined that a team would miss a 4th line player so much.

I think the fact that he is already pushing to get back in the line up really helped to spark the boys on Thursday.  His heart and determination should be an inspiration to all.  He is one of the least skilled players on the team (don't hang me for that comment), but is one of the most important parts of our success.  Him, Bonk, and Downey seem to be a great shut down line.  The line just doesn't seem the same with out Begin in the line up.  I have always liked him, but never realized how important to the team he was, until now.  The guy bleeds hockey.  Every where he has played he has fought to stay in the line up.  It is good to see that he has found a home here in Montreal.  And if I could ask Gainey to do one more good thing, it would be to find another player like this guy.  I would take 2 full lines of Steve Begin.

One thing i miss about Steve from earlier inthe season was when the fourth line was Higgs Beige and Plex. That was back when Steve was still scoring, he was scoring because he had some guys on his line that knew how to play two way hockey ever since Kovy went down he lost one of his linemates and hasn't been able to score more often. And when he was put into an offensive line he didn't have chemistry and was facing more shutdown lines. Kinda similar to Garth Murray, when he was with Plex and Perez they were a quick line that played two way hockey (Not Perezhogin) He was able to score a bit. Then he went up with Ribs and Kovy facing more defensive lines and had little chemistry with both his linemates and was quickly moved. Now he's playing the same role as Begin, on a line with Bonk and Downey/Sundstrom, which doesn't play to his offensive strength (Speed)

Wait, I know this one!!!  (only 'cause I asked him the very same thing a while back).

RWP are his initials, and 2le is short for "toolie", which has something to do with his profession (that, however, I can't recall other than he uses tools).

Anyone notice RWP2LE's Avatar??? It's a video I took of Kovalev stick handling in the warm-ups last Wednesday in Buffalo.

He skated over, right in front of us & did his "thing"
