I love the guy for his offensive oppside and intensity but he had another terrible game. Its hard to belive that before the "new" rules and before he started scoring he was a stay at home defensmen. Thats at least the fifth time he has over commited for a hit and allowed the opposition to score. He looked silly yesterday against Brierre and today he looked sillier against Bergeron, he didn't even hustle to get back in the play afterwords. Bergeron was able to slow down untill Abby had slid far enough from his initial fake to put the puck into the net.

Very ugly moment indeed. Souray is just not that great on defense, sad to say. For all his qualities, he is still working on this aspect of his game.

Ya..I love this guy. But unfortunately he has been making the highlite reels for all the wrong reasons this season. In fairness, Bergeron made a hell of a move that not alot of guys in that league could make while watching a freight train coming at them. Having said that, Shelly has this annoying habit of over commiting.

Souray is great when he plays his game. When he tries to go out of his way for the big hit against a speedy guy, watch out...

I agree with all of your comments, and was planning to post something along that line when I woke up this morning.  Yes, he's been making all the highlight reels for all the wrong reasons.

But I still like the guy for the other things he beings to the game, primarily his point play on the PP, and the intangibles as a team leader.
