think all the sens injuries may have also played into gainey's decision to play abby tonight???

Good question, but I think that those injuries might be an argument for starting Huet. The Habs have a better shot if the Sens D is depleted and if Huet starts.

I really think that it's a matter of giving the guy some well-deserved rest.

Let's hope that the O and D step up tonight. It's a winnable game.

I think if anything all the injuries mean that Huet should have played and instead put Aebischer in on another night...we need this game and Huet gives us best chance to win it. Hopefully Aebischer will be motivated tonite, the real thing that has worried me in his other starts is his total lack of rebound control.

Anyone know if Bulis is in the lineup tonight...I heard somewhere he is out...but I haven't found anything saying that. I hope not because they made a really good line combo on tuesday night.

As a side not is there a player better at winning puck battles then Perezhogin he is freaky strong.

Adam, I was wondering the same thing, I also thought I read Bulis was out again. Also I was wondering if anyone hear if Zednik made any comments about sitting out last game. Or did Gainey just tell him he looked tired and needed a rest. With so many players ego's being so high, i was just wondering if he made any comments about being benched. Oh, i'm not starting any rumours here, i was just curious if anything was said.

I know for a fact Gainey made the point that Zednik was not producing and that is why he is sitting out. See this article ... http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/201636.html ..if you don't understand french there must be an english article somewhere too...basically gainey said Zed was playing up to his level of talent.

As for players ego....I think it is like anything else...in professional sports if you don't have that ego you probably won't do very well. Thinking you are a very good player makes you a very good player...gives you that extra edge. I know for example in golf if I know I will make a putt I am more likely to make then if I think I will make it.

Look at all of the best professional athletes... they all want the ball/club/whatever in their hands in crucial moments, they all think they are the best. Examples of this Tiger, Jordan, Mario, Brett Favre, etc. etc. I think I will add a post on my website about this shortly...give me a few days.

The only thing David will be slaying is any possible chance of me gaining ANY chance of my gaining confidence for him. And im warning you all RIGHT NOW. IF Abby some how gets credited with the win tonight ( notice i didnt say wins the game ) I will give VERY little props to him. The guy needs to give me a little more than a mediocre performance against pitts and a presumed lucky win against ottawa for me to like him...make that ALOT more...

Habs standing around watching the Sens play. Lucky Abs has been sharp, shots 21-6. Canadiens must have been reading about the Sens injuries and felt this would be an easy game. Hopefully they start to play for the remainder of the game or it will be another win for Ott.

Well, the results are good (1 goal allowed on 20+ shots), but the Reboundatron sure makes me nervous. I swear, a 3/4 " sheet of plywood would smother more shots. I thought we'd be all over their net considering we scored off the first shot. But they've taken only a few shots since then.
