One game does not an all star make. I still don't think he's a great goalie, I never did, but he played a good game tonight and hats off to him for 1 good game out of 4 starts. If for some reason he plays 10 good games in a row, my opinion may change on him. I will say this, he looked way more comfortable from what I saw (last 15 min of the game), than he did in any of the other 3 starts and he's rebound control looked better.

Ya missed a good game Kahuna. He had made some pretty amazing saves tonight & the puck stuck to him a few times too! Not as many rebounds. Did ya see how many shots he faced? Trust me credit is due.

I saw most of the 3rd and some highlights, he had a good game and looked WAAAAYY more like an NHL goalie, I'll give him that

We need a reliable backup -- like back in the days of Brian Heyward (sp?). Can't expect to have two top #1 goalies. Aebi stepped in and did more than his job.

I think that is exactly what the Habs were looking for - evidence that their backup can play at a high caliber.  Good on him, but  mostly, good on the Habs - 8 in a row.

I love this board, EVERYONE was calling for Aebisher to be drawn and quartered "Don't ever play him again" or "Bring up Danis" or "This is all we could get for Theo?". Now after one good game (he did let in 3 goals, granted, 2 bellow his Habs average) he's the toast of the town, you're ready do give him a parade??? Kudos to him for one good game...but I'm still sitting here shaking my head and laughing

Don't get me wrong, I'm as happy as anyone he played a good game and won number 8 for us, but I'm still remembering the 3 really bad games...1 out of three doesn't make for a solid backup, he still has a lot of proving to do to win me over!

I'll give credit where it's due!  There were still a few moments where rebounds were flying all over the place that scared the bejesus out of me, but for the most part I have to agree that he helped keep us in the game.

It's interesting though - the Habs team on the ice last night was unrelenting!  They didn't play quite so offensively with Abby backstopping the last three...either they've gained confidence in him in practice or were playing for their lives because of uncertainty with him in there.

Whatever the reason, good game by Abby and the rest of les boys!  Onwards and upwards!

The thing is though Muller, that at the moment ...knock on wood....Huet IS top notch...THE top notch and why should we settle for decent when we have MUCH better?

Because the best needed a rest or else he would have had one of his off games. Last night's game just proves that Abby is like he always has been a number 1 goalie. Anyone remember Abby's last playoffs, he was awesome for the Avalanche, giving them the chance to win the series. And if it wasn't for Abby's first period last night Habs would have lost. Anyways I'm happy for Abby, always have liked him.

I'm not sure anyone is fawning over the guy, but he did play a good game last night. When a good game is played, ya can't dis the guy. I still think he's dog food compared to Huet, but (for once) he played a good game & must give him credit for not screwing it up. I don't think anyone has said that Aeby is the greatest or anything like that. We are stuck with the guy for now.... & as long as he plays like this, we'll give him praise.

Let's just hope he keeps his game together & works on his rebound control.... that way Huet can have a rest without it meaning a definite loss for us.
