Claude Julien figured back in the news on a couple of fronts.

Last week, Gazette columnist Jack Todd wrote about Julien in his column "Huet carries Canadiens on his back"

http://www.canada.com/montrealgazette/news/sports/story.html?id=2f54fdac-85c5-4619-9851-d7102366d227&k=43317&p=1

In one passage, Todd writes that Julien was basically fired because Theodore didn't play well.

Reading Sunday's Journal de Montreal, I see that Claude Julien will be Assistant Coach for Canada at the upcoming World Hockey Championships.   Marc Habscheid is Head Coach. JdeM asked Julien about the Canadiens, and he mentions that he has "turned the page".  In the article he also praises Christobal Huet and says that a team plays well when it has solid goaltending.

I wish Julien best of luck.

good article , by the way mario , did you hear anything on the reason bulis is being benched , and julien was fired for being a good coach , he recognized huet should be the starter and gainey didnt agree , but somehow came to the same conclusion after he watched theo from the same sightline as julien .

I, too wish CJ the best of luck in the future (I'm pretty sure we all do). I'll be looking forward to seeing him behind the bench when Canada play Norway in about a month's time. Fortunately the national channel will be showing it this year  so I'll be able to see all the big games for once...

I think Hab fans who do not like Julien are few and far between. However, something had to be done to stop the bleeding, and Claude took one for the team (so to speak). Whether or not he was right is inconsequencial at this point.

Well said Habual. The bottom line is that we are winning. I just hope that the solution chosen results in long term results and is not just a band-aid.

With CJ's involvement in the WHC and Ken Holland (team Canada's GM), I wouldn't be surprised to see CJ wind up in the Red Wings organization.  Holland has used his time at the championships to scout and pick up players before, I don't think it would be too much of a stretch to think he may like what he sees in CJ.
