In this afternoon's game, New Jersey tied the game at 19:40 of the third period, then won in overtime, 3-2, against Pittsburgh.


No one's going to do us any favours in this race.  We're looking pretty good right now, but every game must be played as if a must win.

This is the most exciting playoff race of any sport that I can remember.  Baseball, you're out with half the season left.  Football's alright, but a game a week doesn't build the excitment that having teams play and jockey for points every night.  And poker, well, that just takes forever.

i dont know about that. The Red Sox and Yankee's race for the wild card last year was pretty awesome. I came right down to the last game!!

The baseball wildcard race was pretty exciting last year but that was just two teams battling.  This year in hockey there are multiple games every single night that have great playoff implications.  There are teams going from 5th to 10th in the western conference in one single night.  Then of course you have the lightning, devils and habs all tied for 6th and slowly creeping up on the flyers for 5th......can't get much better then this.
