Our PP was lousy.

We had 12 PP. last night and we didn't take advantage. Trying to get too cute with the puck rather than letting the point men blast away and going to the net for screens or rebounds.

The lack of urgency on the PP could of cost us the game.

Leading up to last night's game, the recent PP numbers were outstanding. The team was ranked 5th or 6th overall. Last night, they were flat...let's hope it ends there. Specail teams and goaltending is the key to success.

I agree with both of you.  For a team that has had a hard time scoring goals most of the year, we do have a very good Power Play.  We are, as Key Lime says, 5th or 6th overall in the league - not too shabby at all for an offense-challenged team!

That said, we do best on the PP when (and this is sounding like a broken record coming from me) we shoot a lot from the point (read: Sheldon Souray) and jam the front of the net.  If we weren't doing this last game, then we should get back to doing it.  Being cute doesn't cut it.

We're being observant because for a team lacking goal scorers, we should stick to what works.

It's a constructive criticism type of complaining.

Our PP sucked last night and we need all pistons going to make any kind of noise.

Absolutely!

Ribs and Kovy each had over 9 full minutes on the PP last night...while Zeddy had over 8 minutes and Koivu had 7 full minutes of PP time ~ NOT ONE PP GOAL!?!?!?!

And-o realizes that Kolzig played HUGE...but it is an absolute fluke that the Habs managed to save the 2nd point last night!!!

Why on Earth does Gainey/Carbo not put a banger on the PP to crash the net...especially when a little kid would realize that Kolzig was gonna stop EVERYTHING he could see???

I wasn't singling you two out or anything - everyone does it.  I just think it is funny because it never ends.

More to the point, if you are narrowly beating the Capitals 3-2 at home in overtime when you are still battling for a playoff spot, you've got problems.

Yeah but Washington had been playing well. Just won four straight I think.
