Ruutu???   HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

You are funny Habs and Avs...Komi should not even be compared to Ruutu - and I mean that in a good way.

when this guy was drafted he wasnt drafted as a scorer, he was drafted as being the same kinda defenceman as scott stevens. Stevens didnt have 80 goals in his career which was over 1300 games played. Was Stevens garbage? Not a chance....

Bang on!

LMFAO are you comparing Komisarek to the GREAT scott stevens, who has his number retired and is a future hall of famer, goddamn you typical dumb fans who think he's good cause he plays for us God, there are 29 other teams. And to whoever said Tuomu Ruutu's a joke umm wtf are you on ??? He has awesome potential and has good numbers... Sad guys ....

Habs and Avs fan, you know what, a team with all offensive D will get us no where, you need stay at home players, who is the one being dumb just by comparing someone's skill by looking at the number of goals they score? A team needs balance, and a guy needs time to develop, and btw, Scott Stevens was a useless rookie at one point too.

GO HABS GO!!!!

Isn't there an Avalanche or Nordiques website for you?

Clarification, you can't compare Komisarek to Ruutu or Hemsky, they play different positions, and playing D is way harder than playing LW or RW. As far as Hamhuis goes, he has more offensive talent, but he also plays on a way better team. You can't get down on a young D who plays physical and doesn't get beat very often. Not everyone is Phaneuf. It takes time to develop young players, we need to be patient, this season is just the beginning, personally, I won't be happy until we win a Presidents Trophy and a Cup in the same year, you don't get there by recycling top draft picks before you give them a chance.

No, not bang on.  Scott Stevens was great at both ends of the ice.  He has 196 career goals, including a 21-goal season.  Check out his stats:

Very true Nil d.

Scott Stevens had some (sometimes lots of) offense for most of his career.

Of course, he led the Devils to their last cup in a year where he hardly scored more points than Komisarek. His offense was only one aspect of what he provided.

Habs and Avs, Komisarek was drafted high for a reason. And I think other teams would like to have him a lot more than Goc and Kobasew, one of whom is a skill guy who hasn't shown any sign of fulfilling his potential, another of whom is a good player, but basically a grinding winger who is not blessed with much upside.

Komisarek has upside.
As many have pointed out, stay-at-home defensemen take a long time to develop. Komi's progress has stalled at times, and sometimes I wonder if he's going to be a big softie, but overall he's starting to look like a keeper.

Ever heard of Rick Green? Ever heard of Bill Nyrop? Brian Engblom? How about Rod Langway? These are just some random examples of stay-at-home guys that ROCKED for the Habs in their day, without scoring many points.
Wait....you're an Avs fan. How about Adam Foote? I bet you don't remember that when he started out with the Nordiques he was an awkward, slow-footed guy, with poor decision-making, who provided no offense to speak of. But everyone recognized his potential.

And Rod Langway, I must remind you, won the Norris Trophy, so these guys are actually noticed by the experts.

I think Komisarek will be a solid player for years to come.

Hmm I really don't see any game in Komi though, he's not even good at being a stay-at-home d. He makes Ozolinsh look like Lidstrom defensively lol.

Ive had enough of people killing Habs players. I will never criticize the poster just the post. I say it stinks. Why you would rant on Komi is beyond me. Are you sure you are a Habs fan?????

I'm a huge habs fan, this does not mean that I have to like every player who plays for them I know what a good hockey player is.
Habs garbage = Komisarek, Sundstrom, Zednik, Downey.
