Just read Alison is out with a broken hand suffered Saturday against the Canadiens. Wonder if he did it in a fight

& he was a few goals shy of a $1,000,000.00 bonus too!


What a price to pay for a tiny fight that barely mattered.

Kinda makes you wonder if the Leafs' brass greased the team doctor's palm a bit to make the injury worse than it really is, to save a few dollars of cap room!

Nil, are bonuses still allowed under the new CBA? I was lead to beleive that bonuses are not allowed any longer. Could it be signing bonuses are not alllowed and performance bonuses are?

Bonuses are allowed, but they count against your cap.  In the NFL for instance, players are occassionally payed more in a signing bonus, than their actual salary.  The NHLPA/NHL CBA doesn't allow for that.
